What is it with the Scottish PSC and antisemites?

What is it with the Scottish PSC and antisemites?Anybody who is asked to vote on affiliation with, or support for, the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign (SPSC) should think carefully.

Others should remember that it is affiliated to the PSC, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

The SPSC hosts the antisemite, Gilad Atzmon.

The SPSC commemorated Holocaust Remembrance Day by blaming "Zionists" for the Holocaust.

A leading member of the SPSC, John Wight, wrote an article in the Morning Star a year later claiming that the Palestinians "hold a unique place as the Holocaust’s forgotten victims". He defended this article by reference to a neo-Nazi website and by blaming "international Jewry" for Zionism "against which is arrayed the forces of human progress."

Now Mick Napier, the leading activist in the SPSC, has written a piece defending the killing of the Yeshiva boys in Jerusalem on 6 March. He does so by arguing that this Yeshiva in West Jerusalem, which is linked to the religious Zionist settler movement, was a legitimate target. What is more unsettling still is that he uses a number of openly antisemitic and neo-Nazi sources to make his case. See Paul Bogdanor for details.

Is it plausible that this catalogue of antisemitism could be understood simply as an over-enthusiastic willingness to stand up for Palestinian rights? It is clear that the SPSC, as an organization, has decided to ignore criticism of its antisemitism. It has decided that the criticism is all wrong, is made in bad faith and is trivial. It has consciously decided to close its mind to the threat of antisemitism. In so doing, has it not become a racist organization?
